From the face of it,
Life in Melbourne may seem all rosy,
But, to be honest,
It’s far from a doozy;
You grind the whole day,
Yet, at the end of the day,
You still find yourself in dismay;
You try and wrap up all your pending tasks,
Yet, eventually,
You find yourself increasing your asks;
You stockpile your repository with finely cooked foods,
But you soon find yourself only left with suds;
In your quest to reach your destination,
No matter how many laborious turns you take,
You still manage to barely scrape;
For a moment,
You find yourself drowned in the amazing atmosphere,
But the very next moment you realize that no near ones are here.
It is a world,
Far removed from your world,
A world that subsumes every possible matter,
Yet, it is majorly hollow;
Where every individual,
Lives only as an individual;
Where every street is populated with name plates,
But seriously lacking in population;
However, on the upside,
It also happens to be a place,
Where there is zero to no class divide,
Where every goddamn job is treated with respect,
Where people are as honest as dolphins and penguins,
Where politeness is deep-seated in people’s nature,
And most importantly,
Where humans still behave as sensible humans.
